THE CHROME HOUR, AN EVENING OF METALLIC GLOW
An Evening of Reflection and Refined Simplicity
We are excited to share our latest table in the Seasons Art de la Table series, a monthly celebration where thoughtful design, seasonal ingredients, and elevated ambiance come together. For May, we stepped away from rustic charm or fresh greens and into something more sculptural, sleek, and reflective with our “Chrome” dinner.
A Futuristic Mood Rooted in Modern Elegance
Visualise a space that feels both futuristic and timeless, where muted silver tones create a serene, almost cinematic atmosphere. This month’s dinner was designed to reflect that interplay of light, form, and quiet luxury. The evening was an ode to minimalism and abstract forms. Every surface glimmered with subtle reflection, inviting guests to slow down and notice the space around them.
Setting the Scene: Table Décor and Ambience
Inspired by our curated mood board that celebrates cool metallics, soft greys, and smoky transparencies, our table came together to evoke an artistic space.
Reflective Effect : A silver countertop to reflect the beauty of the night, with small silver table lights and its warm glow ready to start the cinematic experience
Chrome Foundations: The table layered with chrome charger plates, brushed stainless-steel flatware and glassware shaping the table.
Bold Contrast: Using sculptural florals like red ranunculus added an organic contrast while keeping with the minimal modernist palette.
The Culinary Journey
To complement the table’s cool sophistication, the menu focused on light, refined flavours, presented with clean lines and thoughtful composition.
Pre-Dinner Cocktail- Sparkling Sake Tini with Cucumber Ice
A crisp, clear cocktail made with dry sake and gin, poured over cucumber ice cubes. Light, refreshing, and served in silver-rimmed glasses to reflect the table’s aesthetic.Starter- Fresh Oysters with Échalote Mignonette
Served on crushed ice in polished stainless steel cocktail glasses, these oysters are paired with a traditional shallot and red wine vinegar mignonette. A clean, briny beginning that highlights freshness and simplicity.Main Course- Oven Baked Fish with Tomatoes, Capers & Potatoes
Delicately baked Sole fish served over olive oil crushed potatoes with blistered cherry tomatoes and briny capers. A Mediterranean leaning dish that balances richness and acidity, offering a vibrant counterpoint to the sleek chrome setting.Dessert- Sicilian Lemon & Bay Leaf Cakes
Individual cakes infused with Sicilian lemon and aromatic bay leaf, topped with a delicate veil of icing sugar. Soft, citrusy, and subtly herbaceous each one a refined finish.
Enjoy!
